Derivation	The 13762 MAT B III cell line was established at the EG&G Mason Research Institute from a transplantable rat ascites tumor derived from the 13762 solid mammary adenocarcinoma.
Comments	Prior to its deposit, the cell line was tested and found negative for the following viruses: Pneumonia virus of mice (PVM), reovirus type 3 (Reo3), K virus, polyomavirus, Sendai virus, GDVII (mouse poliovirus), Kilham rat virus (KRV), minute virus of mice (MVM), SV5, H-1 virus and ectromelia virus. The line grows as small clusters of rounded cells lightly attached to the substrate, or as a static suspension.
Complete Growth Medium	The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated McCoy's 5a Medium Modified, Catalog No. 30-2007. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing	Cultures are maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start new cultures at 1 x 10⁵ viable cells/mL and maintain at 1 x 10⁵ and 1 x 10⁶ cells/mL. Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cryopreservation	Freeze medium: Complete growth medium 95%; DMSO, 5% Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
