Derivation	The Daudi line was derived from a 16-year-old Black male with Burkitt's lymphoma by E. Klein and G. Klein in May, 1967.

Comments	The cells are negative for beta-2-microglobulin. They are positive for EBNA, VCA and Surface immunoglobulin (sIg+). ATCC confirmed this cell line is positive for the presence of EBV viral DNA sequences via PCR.
Complete Growth Medium	The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, ATCC 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (ATCC 30-2020) to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing	Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 3 to 5 x 10⁵ viable cells/mL. Corning^® T-75 flasks (catalog #431464) are recommended for subculturing this product. Interval: Maintain cell density between 3 x 10⁵ and 2 to 3 x 10⁶ viable cells/mL. Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)
