HCC2218 was derived from a female whose family members included several members with cancer; four lung cancer patients (two of them, non-smokers), two breast cancer patients (one of them also had lung cancer) and one colon cancer patient.
HCC2218 BL is a B lymphoblastoid cell line initiated from peripheral blood lymphocytes from the same patient as HCC2218 by transformation with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). |
| Subculturing |
Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension in fresh medium at 5 x 105 viable cells/mL. Maintain cultures at cell concentrations between 5 x 105 and 2 x 106 viable cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density). |
