Animals were immunized with prostatic adenocarcinoma cells. Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells. The antibody reacts with an antigen present on solid tumors (98 of 104 tested) and cross-reacts with minimal cross reaction with paraffin embedded (14 of 92) or frozen (1 of 33) normal tissues. The antigen is found in the cytoplasm as a 490000 dalton molecule, and in the membrane and cytoplasm as a 438000 dalton molecule. An antibody with the same specificity but of the IgM class is available (ATCC HB-8710). |
